Corrections & Transparency

An evidence audit that quietly rewrites its own record is not an audit. Corrections to the Atlas are documented, dated and retained rather than silently overwritten.

Why corrections are published

The Atlas grades propositions against the evidence available at the time of writing. Evidence moves. A single well-conducted trial can raise a replication rating; a retraction can lower a maturity grade; a taxonomic revision can change which organism a historical result belongs to in the first place.

When that happens, the change is recorded as a correction with its prior value intact. A reader should be able to see not only what the Atlas currently says, but what it previously said and why it changed. Negative results and superseded positions remain visible for the same reason.

Record types

What gets recorded

Every correction is filed under one of four types and carries a date, an affected chapter or dossier, and a stated reason.

SC

Scientific corrections

Changes to a grade, direction, replication rating, claim ceiling or stated uncertainty. Each record states the previous value, the revised value, the evidence that prompted the change, and the date.

SU

Source updates

New primary studies, retractions, corrected trial reports or superseded reviews that alter what the Atlas can say about a proposition. Superseded sources remain listed rather than removed.

TU

Taxonomic updates

Revisions to species identity, strain designation or nomenclature. Historical names are preserved alongside current ones, because taxonomic movement is itself part of the evidence trail.

EH

Edition history

Structural changes between editions: added or withdrawn dossiers, chapter reorganisation, and revisions to the grading instruments themselves.

Log

Correction records

The published correction log for the current edition.

No corrections recorded to date

The first publication edition has not yet accrued correction records. When corrections are issued they will appear here in reverse-chronological order, each retaining the superseded value.

Submitting a correction

Corrections are welcome, particularly those citing primary literature. A useful correction identifies the chapter or dossier affected, the specific statement or grade in question, and the source that supports the change.

A dedicated corrections mailbox has not yet been established. Until it is, please write to enquiries@thesporeoracle.world using a subject line in the form Correction — Chapter 16 / Lion's Mane. Correspondence can also be sent to The Spore Patch Ltd, United Kingdom.
