- Proposition / claim
- Improved cheek hydration over four weeks from the tested dried-powder product
- Evidence owner
- Cultivar Oki-Shirayuki 919, as a tested dried-powder product
- Dominant uncertainty
- Independent hydration replication
- Organism
- Enoki / Enokitake
- Tested intervention
- Food product containing 3 g/day dried Enoki powder from cultivar Oki-Shirayuki 919.
- Evidence target
- Standardized preparation
- Intervention description
- Daily food product containing 3 g dried powder of Enoki cultivar Oki-Shirayuki 919 for four weeks. Trial-reported organism identity: Flammulina velutipes. Modern taxonomic context: cultivated East Asian Enoki is generally assigned to Flammulina filiformis. The published trial identity and the modern taxonomic context are preserved separately.
- Population
- 30 healthy adults aged 20-59 years who completed the four-week trial; 15 intervention and 15 placebo.
- Comparator
- Placebo. Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
- Outcome
- Cheek-skin hydration increased significantly more in the Oki-Shirayuki 919 intervention group than placebo over four weeks (p = .033; treatment-versus-placebo change). Related neutral endpoint: the treatment-versus-placebo change in transepidermal water loss (TEWL) was not statistically significant (p = .104). Hydration and TEWL are reported separately and are not collapsed into a single skin-health endpoint; no skin-barrier, wrinkle, anti-ageing, rejuvenation or disease-treatment effect is claimed.

- Evidence Transfer Vector
- I / T / O / D / R, for the expanded claim "Enoki supplements reverse skin ageing." I: Oki-Shirayuki 919 tested food preparation -> arbitrary Enoki supplement. T: trial cultivar -> broad species/category. O: hydration -> skin ageing. D: four weeks -> chronic anti-ageing effect. R: one 30-person trial -> clinically proven.
- Taxonomic Transfer Confidence
- East Asian cultivated 'F. velutipes' → F. filiformis: HIGH contextually. Cultivar-specific molecular authentication not located during this audit.
- Intervention Transfer Confidence
- Oki-Shirayuki 919 → generic Enoki: LOW-MODERATE
